Zagreb, December 29, 2023 – INA – Industrija nafte, d.d. was founded on December 31, 1963 by merging Naftaplin Zagreb with the Rijeka and Sisak oil refineries. The company was registered under the name Kombinat nafte i plina Zagreb, and the name INA – Industrija nafte, chosen as the best in the name selection competition, was given on December 31, 1964.
At the end of 1964, part of INA became Trgovina, and in 1966, the Lendava Refinery. The process continued and over time INA grew into a company that includes the Zagreb Nafta Refinery, the Mineral Fertilizer Factory in Kutina, Petronaft Solin, Naftovod Opatovac – Bosanski Brod, Inženjering Zagreb, the OKI Zagreb and DINA Omišalj petrochemical plants. Throughout history, many companies have joined INA, or the company itself founded them. Today, INA Group consists of subsidiaries wholly or partially owned by INA, d.d., namely CROSCO, STSI, INA MAZIVA, Hostin, Top Računovodstvo Servisi, INA Maloprodajni servisi, Plavi tim and INA Votrogasni servisi. INA Group is a member of MOL Group, and the company’s shares have been listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange since December 1, 2006.
Today, INA is a medium-sized European oil company with a leading role in oil business in Croatia and a significant role in the region in the field of exploration and production of oil and gas, oil refining and distribution of oil and oil derivatives. It manages a refinery in Rijeka and an industrial site in Sisak where it develops sustainable alternative activities and a network of more than 500 retail outlets in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Montenegro. In the field of oil and gas exploration and production, INA today operates in Croatia and Egypt.

Through its long tradition and rich experience during 60 years of business, INA has gained and maintained an important position on the Croatian economic scene. In the last few years, the company has started its transformation. There are already two solar power plants in the portfolio, and the construction of new ones is also planned. INA has received two geothermal concessions and is determined to explore the potential, developing other projects such as a biogas plant in Sisak, green hydrogen in the Rijeka Oil Refinery, where it is implementing the largest single project in its history, a refinery improvement project worth more than 630 million. For almost 10 years, he has been gathering experience in the permanent storage of CO2 underground through the EOR project. And in the coming years, INA, as a modern, socially responsible and transparent company, in constant dialogue with its environment and focused on sustainable development, plans to remain an important factor that ensures energy stability and is a desirable partner in the community.
