Zagreb, 11 December 2024 – INA is the first in Croatia to use AI to generate songs that encourage drivers to take regular breaks while driving. During the holiday season it packed them up and sent them to drivers through an innovative socially responsible campaign “Better to pull over than to fall asleep”.

Drowsy driving is one of the main causes of traffic accidents, according to a Croatian Motorways’ report. As people travel more during the holidays, INA wanted to remind drivers in an original way of the importance of taking a rest so they would safely reach their destinations. “Every time you start to feel tired, take a break at INA’s rest stop, better to pull over than to fall asleep” – is one of the lyrics created with the help of AI, which generated safety messages and the music to accompany them. With the help of advanced AI algorithms, INA adapted songs to regional music preferences and drivers’ locations, thus ensuring that the message reaches everyone. 16 unique songs were created in the campaign, in different genres – from pop, rock and trap, to a cappella and Christmas songs. Drivers can listen to them on digital platforms and radio stations across Croatia.

“AI can enhance creative processes and bring real social benefit when used in a responsible manner. This campaign is a great example of such an application. Our goal is to remind drivers not to drive tired and to look for rest at INA retail stations. The message we convey can increase road safety and save lives,” said Tamara Karagity, Director of Corporate Communications & Marketing at INA.

Listen to the songs from the campaign here and do not forget – it is better to pull over than to fall asleep!

Note: This press release was created with the help of AI, under watchful eyes of INA’s Corporate Communications & Marketing.
